Coach, you already have months of fresh, educational, and engaging marketing content to share with your audience at your fingertips… and today’s video is going to show you where to find it!
So, if you’re not sure how to sell your coaching program on repeat, or if you don’t know what to talk to your audience about, then you’re in luck because there's a content marketing strategy I've used for roughly 8ish years that I wanted to share with you today.
What You'll Learn:
How to create marketing content that intentionally sells your coaching program and other offers.
How to put it into a super simple content marketing strategy and Trello board.
How to create only ONE piece of great content per week.
And don’t forget to stick around until the end because I’ll be sharing my favorite content marketing resource that’s going to make your whole content marketing system flow easier and help you attract the leads and sales you’ve been looking for in your coaching business.
What is Content Marketing?
The purpose of content marketing is to deliver problem solving content to your ideal clients, on a consistent basis, in order to add value, build relationships and inspire them to purchase your products, programs and services.
I like to think of every piece of content I put out as a mini-masterclass or mini workshop that’s going to:
✅ Show my audience the depth of my knowledge
✅ Help them get a vibe for who I am as a person as well as a coach
✅ Provide them with an actual result
But what many coaches DON'T know is how to create content that does more than just pique interest.
So, here's the #1 thing to know as you embark on your content marketing journey.
Every piece of content has a purpose, aclear intention, and an end game that supports our audience.
This means every piece of content you share will include an opportunity for your audience to go further with you on the specific topic you're talking about.
The Key to Effective Content Marketing
Purpose: Every piece of content has a clear intention.
Intention: Each piece should support your audience.
End Game: Every content piece should offer an opportunity for your audience to go further with you on the specific topic you're discussing.
In saying that, the best way to develop your content marketing plan is to pull topics directly from your offers and share small yet powerful pieces of content that will support your audience in getting quick wins and wanting more!
And while we’re talking about this, if you don’t have a signature program yet, or an offer to sell, I'll walk you through it in my blog How To Create your First Signature Program.
Ya see, pulling content directly from your coaching program or your offers supports you in knowing what the heck to talk to your audience about, and also being very intentional and hyper-niched with your message.
This then supports your audience in trusting that YOU are the best person out there to support them because you have so much content on this darn topic.
Here's exactly how to create a content marketing system that sells your coaching program:
Step-by-Step Content Marketing Strategy
Step 1: Choose Your Offer
Choose which coaching program or offer you’d like to sell (Psst... It's typically the one you’re most excited about at the moment). This offer then becomes the focal point of your content strategy.
Step 2: Pull Content
Look at your coaching program framework and pull out 8-10 topics that your ideal clients must know about to start seeing results on that topic. This will be the content you use to educate your audience and sell your offer.
Step 3: Create How-To Content
Create step-by-steps, tutorials, and/or reviews on each of those topics. This will be ONE long-form piece of content per week on search engines (blog, YouTube, Pinterest).
Step 4: Add Relevant Links
Depending on your offer, you might add links to a freebie, a sales page, a join the waitlist button, or even a direct link to book a callwith you within the content.
Step 5: Repurpose Content
There’s no reason to recreate any wheels and make more work for yourself! Use the power of AI to support you in repurposing all your content on different platforms.
Example of Repurposing Content with AI
I used AI to repurpose a YouTube script into bite-sized pieces of content for my Facebook group. I went into Chat GPT and said:
"I’d like to repurpose my YouTube Script into Facebook group posts. Please give me 3 potential polls, 2 carousel ideas, 10 engaging and conversational questions to choose from, and one compelling and story-driven shortened version of the script that inspires my audience to want to learn more by clicking the full YouTube video. This script is geared towards online coaches who are interested in streamlining a simple content marketing plan. Here’s the script…"
As you can see, what used to take a whole lot of thought and time now takes under a minute with the power of AI.
This content marketing system is how I’ve been able to:
Build momentum around my offer topics.
Drive traffic to my website sales pages and checkout pages.
Create daily organic leads & sales.
This system has also helped me create over 7,000 emails on my email list and a couple of hundred thousand dollars organically throughout a three-year time span... all with me posting just THREE videos one time!
I hope seeing this content marketing plan was supportive and has helped you to see how simple and effective content marketing can be.
This trello board is designed to support you in developing a streamlined content marketing system, and also walks you through how to create one great piece of long-form content, and then repurpose it using the power of AI, as well as to schedule your content out weeks or even months ahead of time so you can focus on other things that matter! It gives you exact checklists of every step you need to have the best chances at ranking on the first page of the search engines, and also creating leads and sales.
It’s the same content marketing system and Trello Board I’ve used for years that has supported me in consistently ranking on the first page of google, youtube and Pinterest, and attracting daily organic leads and sales in my coaching business.
📣 Lastly, if this blog was just what you needed in your coaching business, please let me know by sharing it with your coach friends.
